So I'll be rushing Follies for the first time on Friday. Am wondering from anyone who has done it recently - what time do I need to get there? It seems attendance is down these days so I'm wondering how late I could get there and still be assured of getting a seat. Also didn't know if the Friday rushes are still busy even with attendance down during the week.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I would like to get tickets but don't want to crawl out of better super early if I don't have to. Follies - Current Rush Time?

This Friday is a holiday for many people, you might want to plan on getting there a little early to guarantee a seat.

Thanks for the response. What exactly is getting there early if the box office opens at 10?

Sorry to be so dense but I've never done rush before - for any show.

It's okay. I would say as early as you can muster yourself-but 8-ish should be fine. I haven't done this show in ages so I'd err on the side of caution. Enjoy!

I haven't rushed Follies before, but I've rushed a lot of others. And, generally, how early you get there should depend on how bad you want the tickets.

My rule of thumb is if I'm desperate to get tickets and there really aren't other good options for me to get cheap tickets, I go really early. If the box office opens at 10, I get there sometime between 7 and 8, but absolutely no later than 8. If you want the tickets but you don't want to get up quite that early, go between 8 and 9, but risk potentially not getting tickets. I don't know what sort of policies or cheap tickets Follies has once rush is gone, but since it's not selling incredibly well, you could probably get a cheap ticket on TKTS (and probably with a much better location) if you don't get rush in time. But from what I remember reading on here around when it opened, you will probably be fine as long as you get there by 8:30. But someone who's done it recently could perhaps give you a better idea. Hope that helps!

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone. I think I'll go with my original plan of being there by 8 which seems to coincide with other's advice. I really want the tickets. My mom will be in town for a visit plus we don't really have more than the $37 budgeted so TKTS wouldn't really be an option. So I need to pretty much guarantee I'll get the tickets.

It's just been a really long week so the idea of getting out of bed any earlier than I have to on my one day off is unpleasant but I'll do what I have to do for tickets.

Haven't seen the show since opening night so I'm really excited.

Thanks again.

Yah, usually I do the same as BwayFan7000. if I have no backup plan and REALLY want to see it, I try to get there before 8am. If not, between 8-9am.

I find lately, most shows' lines don't start until at LEAST about 8 (the exceptions are ones with very limited tickets like Sister Act (surprisingly) and Book of Mormon of course, for the SRO).

When I did Follies a few weeks ago tho, got there are 8:15. 2nd in line. next person didn't show up until about 9:20. (I COULD HAVE SLEPT IN AN HOUR MORE!) This was a Thursday. When I passed by again on Sat at around 8:30, there were about 10 in line.

i think cause it's a Friday, it won't be as bad as a Sat and closer to a Thursday lineup.

I had planned to rush today, but after watching some of their video clips, I no longer wanted to see it. The show looks sleepy and outdated.

Keep in mind that NJ public schools are closed Thursday & Friday, and Friday is also a holiday for some.
