'The hit, the very palpable hit' of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, Hamlet 2 is an irreverent comedy centering on one teacher's overzealous quest to mount a high school musical. The film is directed by Andrew Fleming (Dick, Threesome) from an original screenplay he wrote with Pam Brady (South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut, Team America: World Police).

BroadwayWorld.com's Eddie Varley and special Tony Night 2008 correspondent Laura Bell Bundy, star of the hit musical, Legally Blonde spent the evening celebrating the 2008 Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards with the various (and very happy) winners.

Natalie Toro and Sutton Foster applied their award-winning vocal skills to the classic duet, 'Get Happy/ Happy Days Are Here Again,' originally performed by Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand on October 6th, 1963 when that version aired on CBS-TV. The BroadwayWorld.com cameras were invited in as the two talented performers worked on the duet in the studios at the Manhattan Center.

Curtains, the Musical Comedy Whodunit from the authors of Cabaret and Chicago, which starred 2007 Tony Award winner and four-time Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce as Lt. Frank Cioffi and Tony and Emmy Award winner Debra Monk as producer Carmen Bernstein played it's final performance on Sunday, June 29th, 2008. BroadwayWorld.com was there to cheer on the cast as they took their final bow.

On Thursday May 22, 2008 the 54th annual Broadway Softball league opened their season at the Heckscher Fields in Central Park. Participating this year for the opening day festivities were Chris Jackson (In The Heights), Jenna Russell (Sunday in the Park With George) and George Wendt (Hairspray). The day celebrated not only the beginning of the season and but also included an appearance by Bob Davis who presented a check for $50,000 to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids on behalf of Michelob Ultra, the official sponsor of the 2008 Broadway Softball Season.

Monty Python's Spamalot welcomed Emmy nominee Stephen Collins ('Seventh Heaven,' Because I Said So) and Grammy nominee Drew Lachey ('Dancing With The Stars,' the band 98 Degrees) to Broadway's Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street) on Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Radio Broadway Presents 'The Radio Hits of 1958' will feature a variety of Broadway stars, American Idol's Constantine Maroulis and alumni from American Bandstand and will be presented on Monday, June 30 at 8 p.m. at The Town Hall, Times Square's landmark concert venue.
