The Manhattan Theatre Club world premiere of CLOSE UP SPACE, by Molly Smith Metzler, directed by Leigh Silverman will begin previews Thursday, December 1 and opens Monday, December 19. The limited engagement features Obie Award winner Michael Chernus, Jessica Digiovanni, Colby Minifie, Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Rosie Perez and Tony Award and four-time Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce. Rebecca Faulkenberry (Rock of Ages) and Christina Sajous (Baby It's You, American Idiot) are the newest additions to the cast of Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, in the roles of "Mary Jane Watson" and "Arachne," respectively. Faulkenberry took her premiere bow on November 10 and on November 15, Sajous made her SPIDEY debut. Click here for more photos from the event!

The high-flying original musical comedy "Bring It On: The Musical" launched its national tour earlier this month and is now playing in Los Angeles with a six-week engagement at the Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre through December 11, 2011."Bring It On: The Musical" features libretto by Tony Award®-winner Jeff Whitty ("Avenue Q"), music and lyrics by Tony Award®-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda ("In the Heights"), music by Pulitzer and Tony Award®-winning composer Tom Kitt ("next to normal") and lyrics by Broadway lyricist Amanda Green ("High Fidelity"). Grammy® Award-winning singer/songwriter and Broadway producer Alicia Keys and cast members of STICK FLY greeted and signed autographs for ticket buyers in the lobby of the Cort Theatre (138 W. 48th Street) this week, November 16. This event celebrated the Broadway debut ofLydia R. Diamond's critically-acclaimed play. Directed by Kenny Leon, the production begins performances today, November 18 in advance of a Thursday, December 8 opening. Click here for more photos from the event!

On November 15, Tony winners David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish, as well as the current cast of the 2009 Tony Award winning Best Musical BILLY ELLIOT, celebrated their three year anniversary of the Broadway production. Billy Elliot the Musical, winner of ten 2009 Tony Awards including Best Musical, features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry. On November 14, the internationally acclaimed revival of John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse's Tony Award-winning musical CHICAGO celebrated its 15th anniversary on Broadway! With a legendary book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, CHICAGO is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording. The 40th Anniversary production and first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's rock musical GODSPELL officially opened at the Circle in the Square Theater last week, November 7. The cast was recently in the studio recording the all new album, though no official release date has been made available yet. Click here for more photos from the cast recording session!

Performances for MCC's Wild Animals You Should Know began November 3, 2011 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, and opens this Sunday, November 20! The production will be directed by Trip Cullman (A Small Fire, Bachelorette) and open officially on November 20, 2011, and will feature the talents of Alice Ripley, JayArmstrong Johnson, Gideon Glick and more. Private Lives began opened last night at The Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) on Thursday November. The Broadway engagement follows sold-out runs in London and Toronto. The limited engagement runs through February 5, 2012. Kim Cattrall, an international star of film, TV and stage, starred as Amanda in Sir Richard Eyre's production of Private Lives at London's Vaudeville Theatre in 2010 and Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre prior to Broadway.
