Second Stage Theatre Sets DEAR EVAN HANSEN Benefit Performance

Second Stage Theatre's critically acclaimed musical, Dear Evan Hansen, will add one performance on Sunday, May 22 at 8pm to its completely sold out run. Tickets for this special benefit performance are $500. All proceeds will fund Second Stage Theatre's educational initiatives, including free student matinees and internships. The limited run of Dear Evan Hansen will conclude on Sunday, May 29th.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN features a book by Steven Levenson, music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, choreography by Danny Mefford, and direction by three-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif. Dear Evan Hansen officially opened on Sunday, May 1st at Second Stage Theatre's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd Street).

The company includes Ben Platt as the title character, Evan Hansen, as well as John Dossett as Larry, Laura Dreyfuss as Zoe, Mike Faist as Connor, Rachel Bay Jones as Heidi, Kristolyn Lloyd as Alana, Will Roland as Jared, Jennifer Laura Thompson as Cynthia.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN features scenic design is by David Korins, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, and projection design by Peter Nigrini. The musical director is Ben Cohn and the music supervisor is Alex Lacamoire.

Charles Isherwood of The New York Times calls Dear Evan Hansen, "a superb new musical with great heart and humor." Isabella Biedenharn of Entertainment Weekly claims it's "a 21st century show whose performances and emotions linger long after the final bow. The entire cast is wonderful!" And Joe Dziemianowicz of New York Daily News raves it's "a stirring, powerful musical with far-reaching appeal. An anthem for pretty much everyone."
