On Thursday, February 16, 2012 musical director Paul Shaffer made a musical cameo at GODSPELL. He joined the cast in singing "Learn Your Lessons Well" and accompanied them on the piano. Watch the performance below!

One of the most recognizable faces on late night television for the past 30 years, Paul Shaffer's musical career began in 1972, when he was brought on as the musical director for the Toronto production of GODSPELL starring Victor Garber, Gilda Radner, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Dave Thomas and Andrea Martin.

After the Toronto run, he went onto play piano for the Broadway production of The Magic Show in 1974 before once again returning to GODSPELL, this time as the conductor and musical director of the Broadway production.

GODSPELL is now in performances at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th Street).

Featuring music and new lyrics by acclaimed Broadway composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) and original concept and direction by John-Michael Tebelak, GODSPELL is directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific).

The new Broadway revival of GODSPELL stars a group of 10 young performers, led by Hunter Parrish as Jesus and Wallace Smith and John/Judas, and featuring Uzo Aduba, Nick Blaemire, Celisse Henderson, Morgan James, Telly Leung, Lindsay Mendez, George Salazar and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.

 GODSPELL originally ran for more than 2,600 performances in New York and spawned successful touring productions in major U.S. cities, a 1973 motion picture adaptation and countless international engagements for the past 40 years.

The new Broadway revival of GODSPELL is produced by Ken Davenport, Hunter Arnold, Broadway Across America, Luigi Caiola, Rose Caiola, Edgar Lansbury, Mike McClernon, The Tolchin Family, Guillermo Wiechers & Juan Torres and The People of Godspell. Associate producers include Dennis Grimaldi Production, Todd Miller, Pivot Entertainment Group, Chris Welch and Cedric Yau.
