STAGE TUBE: GHOST's Siobhan Dillon & Mark Evans Recording of 'Somebody That I Used To Know' Reaches 14500 Hits

Siobhan Dillon and Mark Evans, who lead the West End cast in the award-winning Ghost the Musical, have recently recorded their own cover version of Somebody That I Used To Know in celebration of Gotye and Kimbra's original. The original single has reached number one in the top forty charts and is currently number one in the Billboard album charts. Since its release on You Tube last Friday, Dillon and Evans' version has currently been seen by over 14,500 people. This track isn't for sale or to download, simply a bit of Ghost the Musical fun for fans of the song and musical to enjoy.

Mark Evans said: "We wanted to pay tribute to Gotye and Kimbra's original with our own unique version of Somebody That I Used To Know. When we first heard the track it never left our heads so our producers offered us the chance to record our own version. Our track is quite fitting to the theme of Ghost The Musical - the first lyric for example, Now and then I think of when we were together, is particularly pertinent. The Ghost fan base have been amazingly loyal and supportive so we thought we would give them something fun to watch and share. It's had an incredible response already. Our fellow cast mates have all been humming the song non-stop backstage at the Piccadilly Theatre! We have massive respect for Gotye and love his music and we hope that he will like our version."

The Broadway production of Ghost The Musical has recently received seven US theatre award nominations including three for the 2012 Tony Awards: Da'Vine Joy Randolph for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical, Rob Howell and Jon Driscoll for Best Scenic Design of a Musical and Hugh Vanstone for Best Lighting Design of a Musical. In addition Rob Howell and Paul Kieve received a Drama Desk Outstanding Set Design nomination, Ghost The Musical received a Drama League nomination for Distinguished Production of a Musical, Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Hugh Vanstone received Outer Critics' Circle nominations for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical and Best Lighting Design respectively.

The London production of Ghost the Musical won three Whatsonstage.com awards - Rob Howell for Best Designer (also for Matilda), Hugh Vanstone for Best Lighting and Richard Fleeshman won Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as the production's original Sam. In addition Ghost the Musical won two Manchester Theatre Awards - Best Musical and Best Actress in a Visiting Production for Sharon D Clarke.

A timeless story about the power of love, Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next trying to communicate with his girlfriend Molly through a phoney psychic in the hope of saving her from his murderer. Ghost, based on the Oscar® winning Paramount Pictures film, features new music and lyrics as well as the classic Unchained Melody.

With a London cast led by Siobhan Dillon and Mark Evans, Matthew Warchus' stage musical version of the Academy Award® winning film Ghost originally opened at the Piccadilly Theatre in 2011. Sharon D. Clarke (Oda Mae) and Andrew Langtree (Carl) continue in the roles they originated on stage when the production premiered in Manchester on 28 March 2011. Now in its second year at the Piccadilly Theatre, Ghost The Musical has been seen by over 430,000 people in the UK. Ghost The Musical is also playing on Broadway, with further productions planned for Holland in September 2012 and Australia and Korea in 2013.

Ghost The Musical has music and lyrics by Grammy® award winning Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard as well as featuring the iconic song Unchained Melody. Oscar® winning Bruce Joel Rubin has adapted his original screen play for the stage. Set and costume designs are by Rob Howell, choreography is by Ashley Wallen with musical supervision and arrangements by Christopher Nightingale, illusions by Paul Kieve, lighting by Hugh Vanstone and projection design by Jon Driscoll.
