THE VIEW UPSTAIRS was inspired by the arson at The UpStairs Lounge in New Orleans on June 24, 1973, which killed 32 people. Prior to June 12th this year, when 49 people lost their lives at Pulse Orlando, The UpStairs Lounge arson had been the most deadly attack on the American LGBTQI+ community.

"By using the music of 'THE VIEW UPSTAIRS in this benefit concert we will commemorate the lives of the victims of the two largest attacks on LGBTQ Americans and raise money for the survivors of Pulse Orlando," Producer Jenny Ainsworth says. "Much has been gained over the last 40 years in the march towards equality, but there is still work to do in the fight against homophobia and hatred. Now more than ever, those of us in theatre need to celebrate and cultivate that sense of inclusive community."

Proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to Equality Florida, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity based in Florida that is committed to ensuring funds raised reach those in need, specifically the survivors of Pulse Orlando and the families of the victims. www.eqfl.org / www.gofundme.com/PulseVictimsFund.
