The Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on CBS, Sunday, June 13th, 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT time delay). On the eve of the Tonys, at the InterContinental New York Barclay, the 2010 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre and the 2010 Special Tony Award Recipients were honored.

Special Tony Award® for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre

Alan Ayckbourn
Ayckbourn is the author of more than 74 full-length plays. He has directed more than 300 productions, including the West End premieres of most of his writing. Between 1972 and 2009, he was the Artistic Director of the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, England. Sir Alan, who was knighted in 1997, was most recently represented on Broadway with The Norman Conquests (Best Revival of a Play, 2009).

Marian Seldes
Marian Seldes won a Tony Award in 1967 for her performance in Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance, the first of five Tony nominations. Her Broadway career spans more than six decades, from her debut in Medea in 1947 through her most recent appearance, in Terrence McNally's Deuce (2007).

Regional Theatre Tony Award®

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, Waterford, Connecticut
Located in Waterford, Connecticut, The O'Neill is home to six distinct programs: the O'Neill Playwrights Conference, Music Theater Conference, Puppetry Conference, National Theater Institute, Critics Institute and the Monte Cristo Cottage, Eugene O'Neill's childhood home located in neighboring New London.

Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre

Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York
Founded in 1972, A.R.T./New York assists its nearly 300 member theatres in the Off- and Off-Off-Broadway theatre community in managing their companies effectively so they may realize their rich artistic visions and serve their diverse audiences well.

B.H. Barry
A leading theatrical fight director, Mr. Barry pioneered the teaching of stage combat as part of the curriculum in U.S. drama programs, having being been trained in his native England. His numerous Broadway credits range from the 1981 productions of Frankenstein and Macbeth to Dividing the Estate in 2008.

Midtown North & South New York City Police Precincts
The Midtown North & South Precincts serve and protect the area of Midtown Manhattan. The Precincts help ensure the safety and well-being of the millions of Broadway theatre patrons and tourists in the Theatre District, as well as for all of those who work in the theatre community.

Tom Viola
Mr. Viola is being honored for his personal commitment to the fight against AIDS. He is Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the nation's leading industry-based not-for-profit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization.
