Wolf Hall: Parts I and II, based on the novels by Hilary Mantel and adapted for the Stage by Mike Poulton, is making its Regional Premiere, directed by Rebecca Greene Udden, at Main Street Theater (Rice Village, 2540 Times Blvd., Houston, TX) this fall. BroadwayWorld has a first look at Part II below (plus click here for Part I)!
This dramatic event features two exceptional plays set in the court of Henry VIII and adapted from Hilary Mantel's novels. In Part One (Wolf Hall), the court of Henry VIII is in utter upheaval as the King rages over his lack of a male heir. The shrewd and ambitious Thomas Cromwell inserts himself into the political scene to help the king pursue his passion for Anne Boleyn and secure an annulment from Katherine of Aragon.
Part Two (Bring Up the Bodies) charts Anne's downfall and the rise of Jane Seymour. Cromwell must negotiate an increasingly perilous court to satisfy Henry, defend the nation, and advance his own ambitions. Featuring a cast of 23.
Both parts continue now through December 18, 2016. Performances will run Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays - 7:30pm and Sundays - 3:00pm. Tickets $42 - $36. Discounts available for students, under 30's, seniors, and groups. For information and to charge by phone, call 713.524.6706, or visit MainStreetTheater.com.
