On Monday, Gray Line New York, New York City's premier sightseeing and tourism company, inducted legendary musician
Dionne Warwick into its Ride of Fame campaign as part of its new chapter "Immortal, It, Imminent", or "IIi". Warwick was on-hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, where a custom decal displaying her likeness on the front of the vehicle was unveiled. Check out photos from the event below!
In addition to a signature, open-top red double-decker bus featuring her custom decal on the front, as an inductee of the new 'Immortal, It, Imminent' chapter of the Ride of Fame she was also honored with a "permanent seat" on her bus, outfitted with her signature decal.
Warwick is currently celebrating the release her new album "Dionne Now", which honors her iconic career in entertainment. The album commemorates 50 years since Warwick collaborated with
Burt Bacharach,
Hal David and
Phil Ramone, and features 12 classic songs, including 6 classics and a duet of "Say A Little Prayer for You" with her son
David Elliot, as well as two brand new Bacharach/David songs.
Past Ride of Fame honorees include: Liza Minnelli, Donald Trump, Joe Namath, Whoopi Goldberg, Vanessa Williams, Bernadette Peters, Walt Frazier, Richard Dreyfuss, Rachael Ray, New York Ranger, Henrik Lundqvist, Cyndi Lauper, Marc Anthony, Kenneth Cole and legendary New York Yankee, Reggie Jackson.
