Photo Coverage: Jeremy Jordan, Ashley Spencer, et al. in SONGS YOU SHOULD KNOW at the Laurie Beechman

Libra Theater Company presented Songs You Should Know, a concert of new and rarely performed songs by some of today’s most prolific music theater writers. The concert took place on Monday, February 6th, 2012 at 9:30 pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre and BroadwayWorld was there to cover the event! Check out the photos below!

Hosted by Jeremy Morse (Drama Desk nominee, Bloodsong of Love) and Jennifer Ashley Tepper (If It Only Even Runs a Minute), Songs You Should Know included new work from Brad Alexander Sam Carner and Derek Gregor, Joshua H. Cohen and Lavell Blackwell, Bobby Cronin, Adam Gwon, Caleb Hoyer, Joe Iconis, Russ Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth, Pete Mills, and Will Reynolds. The concert will feature performances by Anne Bobby, Alex Brightman, Sarah Corey, Scott Coulter, Matt Dengler, Katrina Rose Dideriksen, J. Austin Eyer, Melanie Field, Blair Goldberg, Jessica Grové, F. Michael Haynie, Jeremy Jordan, MK Lawson, Kevin Michael Murphy, and Jason “SweetTooth” Williams.

The cast featured Jeremy Jordan (Bonnie and Clyde, Newsies), Matt Dengler (A Little Night Music), Katerina Rose Dideriksen (Bloodsong of Love), Melanie Field (The Phantom of the Opera, Evita), Jessica Grové (Sunday in the Park with George, Thoroughly Modern Millie, A Little Night Music), and more.

Libra Theater Company is dedicated to creating quality New York theater that honors and works with the commitments of its artists. In its inaugural 2010-11 season, the company presented its first mainstage production of The Entropy Songs, a musical by 2011 Jonathan Larson Grant recipient Joshua H. Cohen, as well as Fleet Week and Other Reasons to Sail, a concert of songs by Sam Carner and Derek Gregor, and Midsummer Musicals, an evening of readings of short musicals. In addition to Songs You Should Know, Libra’s current season includes William Shakespeare’s What You Will (…or 12th Night), a second Midsummer Musicals, and the company’s new play reading series In the Balance.
