On Monday, March 1, The Computer School once again hosted the 'Broadway Stars Rock for School Music' fundraiser. The annual concert raises money for the Computer School music program. Past fundraisers have included the participation of Broadway bigwigs Terrance Mann, Brad Little, Charlotte d'Amboise, Jennifer Prescott, and Sean McCourt.
Hosted by Marsha Dietlein Bennett, the cast list for this year featured Will Swenson (Hair, Rock of Ages), Brian d'Arcy James (Time Stands Still, Shrek), Chris Barron (lead singer for the Spin Doctors), Jerry Marotta (drummer for Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney), Gregory Porter (Ain't Nothin' but the Blues, The Civil War), Matt Bennett (Titanic, Blood Brothers), Theresa McCarthy (Titanic, Floyd Collins), Jennifer Prescott (How to Succeed in Business, Carousel), Anne-Julia Audray (Rameau's Pygmalion, Polanski's Master Class), Molly Ranson (August, Osage County, upcoming Carrie production).
These heavyweights performed to the tunes of The Computer School Jazz Band, conducted by Jacam Manricks.
