THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has broken the house record of Broadway’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre for the 28th time. The show earned $1,485,153.79 for the week ending Sunday, February 12, in the 1,068-seat O’Neill, one of Broadway’s smallest theatres. In other news for THE BOOK OF MORMON, the show’s Original Broadway Cast Recording won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, held yesterday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
