The Heritage-O'Neill Theatre Company, a professional, Helen Hayes Award-eligible company located in Silver Spring, Maryland, concentrating its productions to the works of Eugene O'Neill and the American classics, and entering its 8th year of operation, will be mounting Eugene O'Neill's outstanding classic, "A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN" from September 22 through October 22.

Beginning September 22 through October 22 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, and 1 Saturday matinee on October 1), THE HERITAGE - O'NEILL THEATRE COMPANY (a Helen Hayes Award-eligible, professional company located in Silver Spring, MD) will be presenting Eugene O'Neill's lyrical "A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN" - a eulogy he wrote for his older brother, Jamie O'Neill, which is often referred to as "the follow-up" to his masterpiece, "Long Day's Journey into Night."

Last presented professionally in the D.C. metro area in 2005 (when The Heritage-O'Neill first presented it to critical and artistic success), "A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN" was last revived on Broadway to critical praise in year 2000 with Gabriel Byrne and Cherry Jones. The all-time highly regarded "definitive" production of the play which starred Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst was directed by Jose Quintero and presented at The Kennedy Center which then went on to Broadway in 1974.

Heading our cast is resident actor Sean Coe (last seen as ‘Mountain McClintock' in our Winter, 2011 production of Rod Serling's "Requiem for a Heavyweight") as ‘Jim Tyrone,' Lisa Hodsoll as ‘Josie Hogan,' company member Frank Vince (last seen as 'Maish' in our Winter, 2011 production of "Requiem for a Heavyweight") as ‘Phil Hogan,' and rounding out the cast is company member Robert Christie (also an alum from "Requiem") as 'T. Stedman Harder', and 'Jesse Baskin' as 'Mike Hogan.' Resident company member and technician Benjamin Fan is designing lights and sound. Directing her 2nd production of "A Moon for the Misbegotten" (and 10th O'Neill drama) is Heritage-O'Neill founder and Producing Artistic Director, Karey Faulkner.

THE HERITAGE-O'NEILL THEATRE is a professional, year-round resident theatre company which is now going into its 8th season of operation, and which concentrates its productions to the works of Eugene O'Neill, America's greatest playwright, and the American classics. Says Faulkner, "O'Neill speaks to and appeals to ALL segments of our society, not just to a select and privileged few. Our goal is to have people read, know, study, appreciate, and attend the plays of Eugene O'Neill as they do Shakespeare. Afterall, he belongs to US."

"A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN" will be presented at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday nights, Friday nights, and Saturday nights beginning September 22 through October 22 at the company's lovely 200 seat theatre in Silver Spring, Maryland:
