The critically acclaimed new Broadway production of Brian Friel's Faith Healer, starring Tony Award-winners Ralph Fiennes, Cherry Jones and Ian McDiarmid, will play its final performance as scheduled on Sunday, August 13th at 3:00 p.m. at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th St.).
Produced by Michael Colgan & Sonia Friedman Productions, The Shubert Organization, Robert Bartner, Roger Berlind, Scott Rudin and Spring Sirkin and directed by Jonathan Kent, the show began performances on April 18th and opened on May 4th. The limited engagement originally announced through July 30th and was extended to August 13th.
The show, which recouped its entire investment in just 8 weeks, holds house records for the six highest grossing weeks at the Booth Theatre. The production began at the Gate Theatre Dublin in January of this year, quickly becoming the first production in the Gate's 78-year history to sell out before playing a single performance.
Ian McDiarmid won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a play for his performance. Faith Healer also received nominations for Best Revival of a Play, Best Actor (Ralph Fiennes) and Best Lighting of a Play (Mark Henderson).
