Charlie Clements Leads FAITH's First London Revival, Now thru June 16

Multi award-winning former EastEnders actor Charlie Clements leads the cast in the first major London revival of Meredith Oakes' FAITH since its Royal Court premiere in 1997, marking the 30th anniversary of the Falklands War. Directed by Drew Baker, the show will get a 4-week season at The Courtyard Theatre Tuesdays-Sundays at 7:30pm from tonight, 23 May to Saturday 16 June.

Charlie Clements is the Winner of 11 TV acting awards including: Most Popular Newcomer Award at The National Television Awards, Winner Best Newcomer at The British Soap Awards, The Inside Soap Awards, The TV Choice Awards and the TV Quick Awards, 2006 Winner Best Soap Actor at the TV Choice Awards and TV Quick Awards, 2007 & 2008 Winner Best Exit at The British Soap Awards, The Inside Soap Awards, 2010.

In FAITH, a group of British soldiers face nightmarish contradictions in an isolated farmhouse on The Edge of the battle to recapture the Falkands from the invading Argentine forces. It’s a vision of military conflict as a testing ground for English values.

Charlie Clements (Pvt Mick Pike) played Bradley Branning in EastEnders for four years, winning numerous awards, leaving as part of the cliff-hanging 25th anniversary live episode in 2010. He recently played the lead role in a national tour of The Haunting and became the voice of Orange mobile phones.

Ian Sharp (Lance Corporal Adam Ziller) played Tony in the national tour of Girls Night Out; created the role of Archer George in KickOff at Riverside Studios directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair (later produced as a feature film by Achilles Entertainments Ltd); and created the role of Johnny in The Likes Of Us at Sydmonton Festival, directed by Chris Luscombe. Ian is a Director of Achilles Entertainments Ltd, with his wife Rebecca.

Alexander Wolfe (Pvt Lee Finch) was in The Woman Who Walked Into Doors at Silk Street Theatre; A Bridge To The Stars, Hampstead Theatre; The Shoemaker’s Incredible Wife, Lyric Hammersmith; and Dr Faustus at Arcola Theatre.

Anthony Green (Sgt Toby Spiers) played the lead in Amit Gupta's award winning film Love Story. Other film roles include The Bourne Identity, James Bond: Tomorrow Never Dies and The Honeytrap. On stage he played Sheriff Rawel in Richard Davidson's Fringe First-winning Storybook.

Mawgan Gyles (Larry) was in Machinal at BAC and Macbeth at The Globe.

Meredith Oakes (author) is an Australian playwright who has lived in London since 1970. Her first performed play was The Neighbour for The National Theatre in 1993. Her other plays have included The Editing Process (1994), Faith (1997), and Scenes from the Back of Beyond (2006) all at The Royal Court Theatre; Mind the Gap (1995) at Hampstead Theatre, Man for Hire (2002) at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, and Shadowmouth (2006) at the Crucible Studio in Sheffield.

Drew Baker (Director) recently directed the all-star gala West End concert of Children of Eden at the Prince of Wales Theatre. His other directing credits include The Last 5 Years, HMS Pinafore, Beauty & The Beast, Our House, Oklahoma!, Sweeney Todd and Songs For a New World.
