Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS and Jerry Mitchell announce BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS, a new event featuring seven of the hottest men currently on and off Broadway. BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS will be held Sunday, January 31 at Splash (50 West 17th Street). There will be performances at 8 PM and 11 PM and a $10 admission will be accepted at the door.

SOLO STRIPS is a return to the origins of BROADWAY BARES when, in 1992, Jerry Mitchell organized a burlesque show featuring himself and six friends performing original strips on the bar at Splash for a $10 donation plus whatever tips the audience gave to the dancers. BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS will, once again, feature seven dancers performing original strips at Splash for tips and a $10 donation at the door.

Tony Award-winning director/choreographer and BROADWAY BARES creator Jerry Mitchell said, "As we were approaching our 20th edition of BARES, we set the goal of raising $1 million for BC/EFA. The challenge is how to reach that when you already have two sold-out shows every year. So we decided to break from tradition by returning to our roots with these two performances at Splash on Sunday, January 31. We look forward to announcing future events such as this so hopefully in June, we will announce BROADWAY BARES 20 has reached the amazing total of $1 million for BC/EFA."

The inaugural BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS dancers will be: Joshua Buscher (West Side Story, Broadway Bares 19), John Carroll (A Chorus Line national tour, Broadway Bares 18 poster boy, Broadway Bares 19), Daniel Robinson (Hairspray, Broadway Bares 18 & 19 featured dancer), Anton Harrison LaMon (The Phantom of the Opera, Movin' Out national tour, Broadway Bares 19), Tony James (The Lion King, Broadway Bares 16, 17, 18, featured dancer), Nick Kenkel (Peep Show, Legally Blonde, from Broadway Bares 11-18 ), and Kenway Kua (Wicked, The Frogs, Broadway Bares 17). No advance tickets will be available for BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS. There will be two performances (8 PM and 11 PM) at Splash (50 West 17th Street). Doors will open one hour prior to each show. A $10 donation to BC/EFA will be collected at the door.
