Sweet Adelines Diamond Jubilee at Century II Concert Hall

Since 1951, the Wichita Chorus of Sweet Adelines International has been singing a cappella, barbershop style music in Wichita and the surrounding area. For 60 years this chorus has provided entertainment for organizations, celebrations, corporate gatherings, fundraisers, family events and yes, even weddings and funerals.

On August 20, 2011, the award winning Wichita Chorus will present "Diamond Jubilee - 60 Years of Harmony" in Mary Jane Teall Theater at 7:30 PM. Joining the chorus for a cameo appearance on the show will be Wichita's own International Quartet Champions, the Shondells. They won their crowns and gold medals in London, England, in 1977. Special guests this year will be the Boeing Jazz Band, the Air Capital Men's Barbershop Chorus and Chic, a Wichita quartet who placed in the top ten in Regional Competition.

Everyone is invited to the Afterglow immediately following the show in the basement Service Club Room. There you will enjoy more singing, view the display of chorus costumes, photographs, and memorabilia while enjoying snacks and drinks.
