The curtain is rising on a new era of Theatre Lawrence. The public is invited to come see the new facility located at 4660 Bauer Farm Drive in front of Free State High School on Sunday June 9th from 1:30 to 4:30pm. Light refreshments will be served. Chamber Ribbon Cutting

Founded in 1977 as Lawrence Community Theater, Theatre Lawrence has provided the community with outstanding performances of plays and musicals in various facilities including the old Lawrence Arts Center and from 1984 to 2013 at 1501 New Hampshire.

In 1999, a capital campaign was developed to raise money for a new performance venue. The opening of the Bauer Farm facility is the culmination of 14 years of hard work, a strong dedicated board of trustees, a generous business and donor community and countless hours of volunteerism. The construction was made possible by Treanor Architects, First Management, Lawrence Bank and a long list of local contractors who worked diligently to complete the project on time.

The new 35,000 square foot facility is a fully accessible building that includes a 300 seat theater, a classroom wing, multiple restrooms, a lobby bar on the first floor and the Woodward Gallery which will feature exhibits from local artists including Stan Herd and Roger Shimomura.

Tickets for Ragtime: The Musical are on sale now. The show runs June 21-July 7. Visit www.theatrelawrence.com or call 843-7469.
