On July 21, 2013 at 3:00 PM., Ian Patrick Gibb, fresh off the critically acclaimed 25th Anniversary National Touring Production of "LES MISERABLES", will present a one night only concert at his alma mater, Wichita Collegiate School to kick-off celebrations for their 50th anniversary year. "Christmas in July", to be presented in Collegiate's Galichia Auditorium, will be an evening of holiday and musical theater favorites that will include selections from both his debut album and Christmas EP. Joining Ian in the celebration will be special guest Katie Wilcoxson, one of Orlando's top studio vocalists who has recorded with such companies as Disney, DreamWorks, SeaWorld and Macy's.
"I am incredibly excited and proud to return to my alma mater for this concert," Ian says. "Wichita Collegiate's theater and choral departments have always striven for excellence and definitely laid the ground work for my professional career. I couldn't think of a better way to give back to a school and a department that has given me so much, especially in this, their 50th anniversary year. I can't wait!"
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Wichita Collegiate School to help fund its choral and theater programs. Ian Patrick Gibb is a New York based actor most recently seen in the critically acclaimed 25th Anniversary National Touring Production of "LES MISERABLES" where he played Jean Prouvaire and understudied the role of Marius. Ian began working professionally at the age of 15 as an intern with Music Theatre of Wichita, one of the top summer stock theaters in the country. As an intern, Ian was fortunate enough to be a part of the American premiere of "Honk!" and can be heard on the original American cast album. By 18, Ian had joined the full company and went on to perform such roles as Dean Hyde in "All Shook Up," Feuilly in LES MISERABLES" and the Production Tenor in "The Producers."
Ian attended Oklahoma City University where, under the vocal direction of Dr. William Nield Christensen, he earned a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theater. Upon graduating, Ian signed with David Krasner and The Mine Agency and moved to New York City. Since moving to New York, Ian has performed with Papermill Playhouse, Pittsburgh CLO, The Fireside Theater and the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina and has played such roles as Joseph in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," Lucas in "The Student Prince" and reprised his role as the Production Tenor in "The Producers."
