Sherlock Homes: The Last Act at Theatre at the Tabard

It is 1916. Drawn from two years of Sussex retirement for the funeral of his friend, Dr Watson, Holmes returns to Baker Street to resolve ‘The Last Act’ of his epic career and reveals a shocking secret.

Actor Nigel Miles-Thomas has had an extensive career spanning five decades. He has worked with Steven Berkoff, performed a leading role in London’s West End  in The Fifteen Streets as well as many of the regional theatres in the UK. Internationally Nigel has performed in the USA and all over Europe and Asia. Founder member of The Cherub Theatre and Medieval Players Theatre companies, first performing in Edinburgh at the Fringe in The Two Noble Kinsmen in 1979. Well known on TV for his appearance in Dr Who, Grange Hill as well as many of the UK’s popular programmes. Together with his Fringe Management partner Michael Blaha they produced the first Pantomime in Los Angeles starring Zsa Zsa Gabor in 1993.

Playwright David Stuart Davies has studied Conan Doyle’s writing since his university thesis on Sherlock Holmes in 1977. He has written several Sherlock Holmes novels and plays and is respected as an international authority on the subject. He is editor of The Sherlock Holmes Gazette.

David has spent decades sifting through Conan Doyle’s work, piecing together clues about the private persona of Sherlock Holmes. He has built up a detailed and intimate knowledge of the man behind the myth, notably revealing his acerbic sense of humour.

Director Gareth Armstrong was a founder of “The Made in Wales Stage Company”, an Artistic Director of Cardiff's Sherman Theatreand an Associate Artist at the Salisbury Playhouse. As a freelance he has directed all over the UK, as well as in Europe, and the United States.
