RETRACED integrates live decision-making between the arts, an interdisciplinary conversation that uses interactive movement to explore boundaries of visibility, articulated through large-scale projection, light, dance, and live music. The running time of RETRACED is 12 minutes.
This interdisciplinary project began with a conversation about invisible disabilities. RETRACEDaims to bring awareness of how easy it is for feelings of invisibility to go unnoticed. We see the dancer appearing in and out of the light, interacting with rhythms of live music, large silhouettes, and abstract forms, never fully hidden and never in control of the shift in visibility.
The improvised nature of the piece allows the dancer and musician to momentarily respond and react to what is seen and heard, making each performance alter slightly in every recollection
