Friday 11th August and Saturday 12th August, 7.30pm - 8.30pm. Post Show Q&A.
Join Baillie Dobson (BA, MA, PhD, OBE) as they deliver their ground-breaking, noble-prize-winning examination and deep dive into the weird and wonderful world of the humble chair. The lecture delves into the etymology and construction of the chair before peering into the furniture future. From the mahogany stools used in the Last Supper to the porcelain throne that Elvis sat and died on. This keynote speech will be guaranteed to be sofa-scinating. It’s chairs, chairs and nothing but chairs! Come along for the lecture of a lifetime and feel part of the furniture, but please remain seated at all times. Be there or be chair!
"Although I may have some points to disagree with some points of this lecture, it was extremely informative and thought-provoking. I would race to see what this young scholar has in mind next" - Dr. R A LBC Pope Master of the Swing

Find out more about Broken Record
Emerging from the hottest summer in British history in 2022, Broken Record is the consequence of a heatstroke shared between James Tudor Jones and Baillie Dobson. Their combined passions of chaotic, semiotic and Northern exotic theatre have led them to develop a Frankenstein’s monster of working-class nonsense for their audiences. If that worries you, it just means you’ve been listening. We want to disrupt the system. We want to disrupt theatre-making. We want to disrupt audiences. Because, with Broken Record, you’ve heard it all before...
