Harp & Tap at The Cockpit

The Celtic harp and tap dance join forces in this sparkling performance, drawing inspiration from the world of concerts, theatre and musical experimentation.

“Harp & Tap” consists of a series of musical tableaus that express a colourful combination of sounds and rhythms: from a grotesque mask of the Italian "commedia dell'arte" to the pulsating beat of ragtime from the 1930s. Swing and groove dialogue with the multiple sounds of the harp outline the characters of the two protagonists on stage.

Get ready for a unique crescendo of artistic fusion where strings and steps intertwine.

In 2018 Adriano and Ilaria met at a tap dance class, he as a student and she as a teacher. Fascinated by innovation in their professional fields, the two artists try to blend the sounds of the Celtic harp with the rhythmic phrasing of tap dance, and the result is beyond the lines.

After several performances in Italian theatres, Harp & Tap comes to the Camden Fringe 2023.
