The Royal Albert Hall is pleased to present a showcase concert for virtuosic Melodeonist Elye Cuthbertson, the first-ever winner of the Hall’s Future Makers event which aims to discover and support new talent.
In the lockdown of 2020, Elye Cuthbertson made an ambitious album to raise money for the charity Help Musicians that brought musicians together through a series of collaborations. Covid-19 Compositions is comprised of 19 instrumental folk arrangements written by Elye, 14 of which are collaborations with other top folk musicians.
In each musical partnership, the featuring artists bring their own style to Elye’s compositions, creating a compilation that is both unique in its music, recognisable and innovative in its style. For this one-off concert, Elye presents Covid-19 Compositions live in the Elgar Room to celebrate the album, now played in person for the first time.
