Based on Ibsen’s drama of free speech and fake news
Adapted from a play by Henrik Ibsen
CAST: Darren Ruston, Janaki Gerard, Jed Shardlow, Angelo Leal, Mary Stewart, David Mildon, Emily Byrt, Seamus Newham, Mark Grindrod.
Originally written by Ibsen in 1882 and then adapted by the American playwright Arthur Miller in the 1950s, AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE has not been staged in London for nearly 30 years. Miller adapted this work during the same period as writing The Crucible. He brings razor sharp psychological precision to Ibsen’s timely thriller about a rebel scientist fighting to expose a corrupt regime and press. This production is running as part of Phil Willmott's 4th Essential Classics Season at the Union Theatre.
