LynchPin Theatre brings the European premiere of a powerful play to the London stage this October. Apples in Winter by Jennifer Fawcett is a one-woman play that tells the story of an American mother whose son committed a violent crime. Hes been on death row for 22 years. In a few hours the state will execute him. As is the tradition, he is granted a last meal: he asks for his mothers apple pie. As the mother shows the audience how to make the perfect pie, they watch her attempt to understand what happened to her son and how everything changed that night 22 years ago. This moving play powerfully gives voice to the unheard mothers of offenders. There is a programme of post-show discussions on the issues raised.
