VIDEO: YouTube Pranksters Break Into National Theatre Image

Two YouTube pranksters broke into London's National Theatre and spent the night there after finding a balcony door unlocked.

Ally Law, who has posted similar stunts on YouTube, and another man gained access via the roof, explored backstage, and scaled the inside of the Olivier's fly tower and lighting rig (currently set up for Follies), filming their antics as they went.

When challenged by a security guard, the pair claimed to be doing late night rehearsing. They then slept in the theatre and left the next morning.

Liz Fosbury, chief operating officer at the National Theatre said: "The safety and security of everyone at the National Theatre is of the utmost importance. We were shocked and concerned that two intruders recently put themselves at great risk by gaining unauthorised access to a restricted area of the building.

"We would like to reassure audiences that we have taken immediate action to further strengthen our security, we liaise with the police on an ongoing basis and we are working closely with the Met following this incident."
