Brought to you by William Alder Productions Ltd., with the principal sponsorship of Love Wimbledon this December sees the launch of Bobblehat: London's First Live Events Advent Calendar running from the 1st - 24th December across Wimbledon town.

Each festive day a different door will open unveiling a unique experience. Scattered across the bustling town, locations could range from an underground car park, an empty shop, a cinema, a library, a school - even a Windmill!

With nothing more than a 'hint' available beforehand, details of what's behind each door will be kept secret until it opens, and the audience steps into a new world, where each space has been transformed for a single evening. Audiences will be invited to lose themselves in a magical forest for a performance of Midsummer Night's Dream - unlike any other - become part of an interactive magic show, race against time to help Father Christmas fix his sleigh, or simply relax and let a live jazz band provide the soundtrack to their night.

AND IT'S FREE to attend on a first come, first served basis. Does it get much better than that at Christmas time?

With a huge variety of established and emerging artists and companies involved - from Lukas McFarlane (winner of Sky 1's 'Got To Dance') and his UnTitled Dance Company Seeds to award winning cycling Shakespeare company The HandleBards and comedy sketch duo Goodbear, fresh from a sold out run in Edinburgh and the Soho Theatre - the producers of Bobblehat and Love Wimbledon hope to draw audiences from across the region and beyond to enjoy this assortment of artistic treats.

Bobblehat marks the first outing for William Alder Productions Ltd, led by Artistic Director William Alder. After many years as a successful Technical Designer and Production Manager, Alder founded the company in 2016 to create new experiences for audiences by putting on exciting events in unusual places.

"Wimbledon is the ideal place to launch the Bobblehat festival with its thriving local town and a wide demographic of residents, whilst also having a great existing local festival scene. And the best bit is, it's where I grew up!" William Alder.

Notes to Editors:

Love Wimbledon are Principal Sponsors for the festival - 'Love Wimbledon was set up by local businesses in 2012 as a Business Improvement District (BID) - a business-led, not for profit organisation representing, serving and working to improve Wimbledon Town Centre. Our vision is for Wimbledon to be an even more popular, safe, interesting and better place for business, visitors and residents. That's why we are lead Bobblehat sponsors - backing local entrepreneurs to support culture and generate fun in the town centre.'
