The Rt. HON. Ed Balls MP, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families and ABA President, Esther Rantzen, will launch Anti-Bullying Week 2007 on the stage of London's Apollo Victoria Theatre, home to the award-winning musical Wicked, on Thursday November 15 at 3PM.
Every November, through Anti-Bullying Week, the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) and its 67 member organizations shine a light on bullying, sending a clear and positive message that bullying is neither acceptable nor inevitable in our schools, or our communities. This year's Anti-Bullying Week will run from 19-23 November, and explore the theme of 'bullying in the community' with the slogan 'safer together, safer wherever' to remind us that we all have a role to play in keeping children and young people safe.
Young Anti-Bullying Alliance (Young ABA), a recently established board of nine previous Diana Anti-Bullying Award winners, who aim to ensure the voices of children and young people are heard, will also be present, and a member of the board will co-chair the event.
Wicked stars Kerry Ellis, Dianne Pilkington, Oliver Tompsett, Nigel Planer, Andy Mace and Susie Blake will speak at the event and members of the cast will perform a special version of the song 'For Good' for an invited audience.
