West End Heroes has smashed its own box office record, raising over £100,000 for the Help For Heroes charity. And with further donations and a dedicated text-to-donate still to count, the final figure is likely to be much higher.

West End Heroes Producer David Pearson, the Dominion Theatre's General Manager, said: "This has been a massive achievement in only our second year. I want to thank everyone involved in what was a colossal undertaking - there were 200 people performing on stage and a small army behind the scenes, most who worked for nothing on their day off."

Staged in the newly refurbished Dominion Theatre and hosted by Michael Ball, West End Heroes united the casts of many of the biggest West End musicals, including Miss Saigon, Evita and White Christmas, with West End soloists and dancers and the finest UK military bands and musicians in a dazzling showcase of showstopping numbers, unlikely song mash-ups and stunning choreography and precision drilling.

"We sincerely hope that West End Heroes continues as an annual event," says Pearson. "but that very much depends on the ongoing support of the military, West End producers and artists, and the availability of the theatre. However, two things are certain: the public seem to want it and Help for Heroes are always going to need support to carry on their incredible work supporting and rehabilitating servicemen."

If you didn't manage to see the show, but would still like to show your support, you can still text WESTEND to 70900 to donate £5 to Help for Heroes Official. Text messages cost £5, plus your standard network message charge. A £5.00 donation will be made to Help for Heroes (registered charity no. 1120920) for each text message you send.
