Weisz Set to Play 'Blanche' in Donmar 'STREECAR' Revival, Ashford Directs

BBC News Online is reporting that Oscar winner Rachel Weisz is set to play Blanche Dubois in a West End version of A Streetcar Named Desire.

The Tennessee Williams revival is set to take place at London's Donmar Warehouse and will be directed by Rob Ashford. No other cast details, exact dates or other production information has been released. The current plans are for 'Streecar' to open in July 2009.

Weisz, won a best supporting actress Oscar in 2006 for The Constant Gardener. 

Rachel Weisz was last seen on the London stage in the Almeida's 2001 production of Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things.
