Cast members from Wicked, the record-breaking hit musical, today presented a cheque for funds raised from its annual Wicked Day to the national charity Thrive, based in Battersea Park.

Wicked Day is a free, fun, family event that welcomes all ages to celebrate the show and raises funds for good causes in the local community. 2008's Wicked Day raised £4,000 in aid of Thrive, a small national charity that uses gardening to help disabled people transform their lives. Thrive offers help to people in their own home or at its two gardens at Battersea and Reading, through structured horticultural therapy programmes.

Susan Stuart, Battersea Garden Project Manager, said: "We are very grateful for the money Wicked has raised for us through Wicked Day. This has contributed to improvements being made as part of our £765,000 re-development of this garden project which will significantly increase the number of disabled people we can help in London."

WICKED is also pleased to announce that this year's Wicked Day will take place on Sunday 1 November from 12pm to 6pm in The Lawrence Hall at the Royal Horticultural Halls, Greycoat Street, London SW1P 2QD. It will feature a host of theatre- and Halloween-themed free events, including competitions, performances, face-painting, fancy dress, workshops and a range of activities suitable for people of all ages - including the cast!
