WICKED, the award-winning musical that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, is proud to announce a new year-long charity partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSH Charity) for 2018.
For more than a decade, the London production of WICKED has been supporting and championing the remarkable work of many UK charities through its philanthropic programme, WICKED: FOR GOOD. In 2018, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity joins this charitable endeavour, which also includes the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA), the National Literacy Trust (the primary partner of the annual WICKED YOUNG WRITER AWARDS) and the Woodland Trust (the principal beneficiary of the annual WICKED DAY charitable event).
WICKED, which is now in its 12th year at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre, will be fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity in multiple ways, including opt-in donations on the ticket booking system and bucket collections. Cast members of WICKED will also visit the hospital to help entertain children during their treatment, as well as attending the special patient parties organised by GOSH Charity.
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust is one of the world's leading children's hospitals. The hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential.
Michael McCabe, Executive Producer (UK) of WICKED said: "Wicked has been proud to champion the remarkable work of many UK charities for more than a decade through our 'For Good' philanthropic programme. We are incredibly proud to now announce a new year-long fundraising commitment in support of the extraordinary Great Ormond Street Hospital by raising money for GOSH Children's Charity. It is a privilege for us to be able to collaborate with them and support their vital and inspirational work."
Sophie Powell-White, head of the account management team at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity said: "We are thrilled to be launching this exciting new partnership with Wicked, which will combine fundraising activities and special treats for children cared for at Great Ormond Street Hospital. We look forward to working with the team at Wicked to create a really exciting programme of activities during 2018."
