As previously reported, a feature documentary about Lord of the Rings star Ian McKellen is set for release in the U.S., U.K., and Scandinavia by Trafalgar.
The film is build around 14 hours of interviews and includes never-before-seen footage of the actor, as well as behind the scenes footage from film and stage. The documentary covers his life from the early years, and will reveal diaries, private photos, and more.
The film will be called "McKellen: Playing the Part" and will be released in the U.K. and Scandinavia this spring, and the U.S. later in the year.
Ian McKellen has released a clip from the film on his Twitter account, featuring himself and Judi Dench behind the scenes at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Watch it below!

Joe Stephenson directs the film, and it is produced by B Good Picture Company with Surreal Film Company in association with Ugly Duckling Films and Blue Topaz Productions Ltd., and support from Great Point Media and Lipsync Productions.
