Providing audiences with more chances to watch cutting-edge productions, halfway through VAULT Festival in excess of 40,000 people have journeyed underground with VAULT offering 5,000 more tickets than in any previous incarnation. So far, with 1,535 performances of 211 shows, VAULT has offered the public amazing opportunities to see work by a wider variety of artists than ever before.

From 27th February, Child.org will host an exclusive stage at VAULT's new venue The Horse & Stables pub with 25% of the stage's ticket sales directly going to support their Team Mum campaign, helping to fund pregnancy services in rural Kenya that offer health information and medical support for new mothers. All money raised through this important initiative will be doubled by the UK Government.

Over 120 parenting bloggers, influencers and parenting brands have thrown their weight behind Child.org's Team Mum campaign, including TV presenter Cat Cubie, Mumsnet and family activity website Hoop. So far, Team Mum has raised over £70,000 towards their target of £150,000.

International Development Secretary Penny Mordaunt said, Expectant mothers across the UK are supported throughout their pregnancy by the hard work and care of our fantastic NHS. Sadly, this is not the same for many women in Kenya who still do not have access to the care they need to make sure that their babies grow. The Team Mum campaign, with the support of UK Aid Match, is bringing together parents and experts from across Britain to support communities and empower pregnant women in rural Kenya. Every time the British public reach into their pockets and donate to a UK Aid Match charity, the Government matches their contributions pound for pound. This appeal is directly changing the lives of some of the world's most vulnerable people.

In other news, VAULT Festival and their new purpose-built craft beer bar, in collaboration with Meantime Brewing, have served more than 15,000 pints. By using 12,000 reusable cups, by the end of the festival VAULT will have avoided using more than 100,000 single-use cups. VAULT's commitment to reducing their single-use waste has seen a ban all plastic straws and guaranteed that food and beverage packaging is biodegradable or recyclable. The Festival is Carbon Free Dining Certified and donations made alongside food orders have contributed to the planting of more than 1,000 fruit trees.

The VAULT Festival team commented, We're so excited to watch the festival grow and flourish. Initiatives such as the Team Mum stage - and our work with Help Refugees - give us a chance to support something bigger than us whilst doing what we love, so it's fantastic to have them involved.

With more than 400 shows in their 2019 programme, of which 59% are female-led and 29% are LGBTQIA+ led, VAULT Festival is one of the largest curated arts festivals in the world, and offers the best in new writing for theatre and comedy, immersive experiences, cabaret, live performance and late night parties.
