Twiggy celebrates the music of the Twenties, Thirties and Forties with this impressive collection of melodies from the golden age of song. Performing the songs of Noel Coward, Cole Porter and Richard Rodgers in her own inimitable style, Twiggy recaptures the essence and originality of these timeless classics. Released to coincide with Twiggy's 60th birthday - this album showcases Twiggy as a song stylist and torch singer.

"Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance" will be released September 14 on the Stage Door Records label.

Twiggy launched her career as a professional singer in 1971-starring as Polly Browne in Ken Russell's musical film ‘The Boy Friend', a role for which Twiggy was awarded two Golden Globes. Twiggy then found success on television, starring in two series of her own musical variety show ‘Twiggs'. The shows saw Twiggy perform songs across a variety of genres alongside guests as diverse as David Essex, Tim Hardin and Linda Lewis.

Twiggy signed with Phonogram in 1976 and subsequently released two chart albums ‘Twiggy' (1976) and ‘Please Get My Name Right' (1977). The album ‘Twiggy' went silver and its lead single ‘Here I Go Again' became a summer hit peaking at number 17, A concert tour soon followed culminating in a sell out performance at London's Royal Albert Hall.

In 1983 Twiggy made her Broadway debut in the Gershwin musical ‘My One And Only' receiving a Tony nomination for her performance. Returning to the recording studio with producer Charlie Skarbek she released records on the Aritsa label, returning briefly to the charts in 1985 with the single ‘Feel Emotion'.

Twiggy's passion for music from the 1920s and 1930s was captured on her 1996 album ‘London Pride', this was followed by the 1999 Off-Broadway show ‘If Love Were All, playing Gerturde Lawrence and singing the songs of Noel Coward.
