This February Half-Term at Carriageworks Theatre Includes RED RIDING HOOD, BIN MEN and More

Carriageworks Theatre is hosting an exciting range of activities and performances for the whole family this February half-term. With five imaginative productions aimed at toddlers, primary and secondary age kids plus pre-show activities for the whole family to enjoy, every day will be a new adventure on Millennium Square.

Grisly Tales from Tumblewater (Sat 15 Feb) brings Bruno Vincent's spine chilling book to life for children age 8+. Fearless orphan Daniel Dorey, armed only with his wits and a satchel of scary stories must bring down the town's twisted landowner Caspian Prye. Young people can write their own tale of terror and bring it to Carriageworks Theatre for a chance to win a copy of the Grisly Tales book.

Red Riding Hood (Tues 18 Feb) tells the classic fairy tale of a young girl and hungry wolf and a walk through the woods to grandmother's house for children age 4+. Theatre staff will be creating a collage of big eyes and ears with young people in the hour before the performances.

The Clean as possible Comedy Show (Wed 19 Feb) for budding young comics age 12+ and their parents to enjoy a night of hilarious stand-up without worrying the next joke may go too far. Current line-up includes Steve Royle, Dave Twentymanand Tony Vino as MC.

Bin Men (Thurs 20 Feb) is a story of recycling and transforming told with 'Stomp' style live music, puppetry and lots of childish fun by Mike Kenny for children age 5+. Make and play your own recycled instruments with help form Carriageworks Theatre staff in the hour before the show.

Big Red Bath (Fri 21 Feb) brings the well-know picture book to life with bright bath-time animals and adventures around the world and home again for ages 2+. Leeds Libraries offer professional story time sessions and personalised recommendations from their travel trunk lending library for the hour before the show.

The Carriageworks Theatre is a modern venue located on Millennium Square programming a wide variety of theatre and comedy for the whole family. We are also the proud home of the Leeds Civic Arts Guild, the Carriageworks Theatre Academy for young people and various classes open to the Leeds community.
