The Woman in Black, adapted by Stephen Mallatratt from the novel by Susan Hill, will celebrate its 20th year in the West End with a new cast led by Sean Baker and Ben Porter.

Directed by Robin Herford, designed by Michael Holt with lighting by Kevin Sleep, The Woman in Black just celebrated its 7,500th performance.  Unanimously acclaimed by the critics, The Woman in Black combines the power and intensity of live theatre with the cinematic quality of film noir.  Over three million people have been transported into a terrifying world in an unremitting drama that has them literally jumping out of their seats.

Sean Baker's most recent theatre production was The Schuman Plan at the Hampstead Theatre.  He has also appeared in Trevor Nunn's Richard II at the Old Vic, Deborah Warner's Julius Caesar, and in Becket at the Haymarket Theatre.  Sean's television credits include the role of David Blunket in 'The Blunkett Tapes', and other roles in 'Derailed', 'Christmas Truce', 'Murder Prevention', 'Midsomer Murders', 'Doctors', and 'Foyles War'.

Ben Porter last acted with Sean in 1992 in Paris in Victory by Howard Barker, and was previously directed by Robin Herford in the UK tour of Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourne.  Earlier this year he performed in a one man play at the Theatre 503 called The Atheist.  In addition Ben played Young Housman in Tom Stoppard's The Invention Of Love at The National Theatre, and has appeared at many of the UK's leading theatres.
