The Old Bags Theatre Company Presents THE BIG 'OH...!' at Bath Fringe ImageThe Old Bags Theatre Company is partnering with sexual health educators from MO, to bring a bit of laughter out of the classroom and into the back of the Bath Theatre Bus on 2nd and 3rd of June, 2018.

Interactive sequences with Milly Carmichael and Gail McVicar, lead the audience on a humorous foray through sex education for adults. They do not shy away from important topics, but instead dive into answering questions about pleasure, inclusivity, consent and anatomy.

Starting in September of 2019, all primary schools in England will be required to teach age-appropriate relationships education, and all secondary school will focus on age-appropriate relationships and sex education as part of the compulsory curriculum for the first time. According to the Sex Education Forum, more than three-quarters (78%) of the parents surveyed wanted their children to learn about the differences between safe and unwanted touch and how to speak up if someone treats them inappropriately, whilst 72% of parents feel that primary schools should educate children on what to do if they find online picture showing private body parts or are asked to send them. With these changes on their way parents may not feel comfortable of confident answering questions, particularly if they did not receive excellent relationships and sex education themselves. This show invites the audience to have their questions answered and think about how they can bring about change for themselves, their families and their community.

This event is aimed at adult audiences.

Milly Carmichael has a background in nursing with emphasis on sexual health, counselling, substance misuse, and mental health. She co-authored an innovative and award winning sexual health training resource through Leonard Cheshire Disability's 'In Touch' Project in 2010. Currently, Milly is one of the co-directors of Mo Training and Consultancy.

Gail McVicar has been a sexual health educator for more than 20 years, working along side professionals and young people to develop work to meet the relationships and sex education needs of vulnerable and excluded young people. Gail presented LGBT issues and preventing homophobic, biphobic and transgender bullying at the Delivering Age-Appropriate Relationships and Sex Education in Schools Conference, Adapting the Fifteen Domains of Healthy Sexual Development for Practitioners at the Healthy Sexual Development Symposium at the University of Westminster and received the Brook Award for UK Sexual Health Professional of the Year for 2010.
