The Old Red Lion Theatre's production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest transfers to the Theatre Royal Haymarket for 2 weeks only from 31 January 2012, immediately following the end of its run at the Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington.
Cast includes Harriet Ballard, Simon Grujich, Stephanie Lane, James McNicholas, Rachel Nussbaum, Owen Roberts, Morgan Thomas and Janet Jefferies as Lady Bracknell. The production marks the first ever West End transfer for the Old Red Lion Theatre, and is directed by Artistic Director Henry Filloux-Bennett.
The production marks the latest success for the Old Red Lion Theatre since Artistic Directors Henry Filloux-Bennett and Nicholas Thompson took over in 2010 – recent productions include the sell-out and critically acclaimed production of Kissing Sid James off Broadway and the longest ever Fringe comedy play, the award-nominated Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged).
"The Theatre Royal Haymarket are delighted to offer Henry Filloux-Bennett the opportunity to stage his Old Red Lion Theatre production of The Importance of Being Earnest. We are thrilled that he and his team at the Old Red Lion are able to embrace the opportunity to realise their West End ambition and we wish them all good fortune for this limited run." Arnold M Crook, Chairman Theatre Royal Haymarket.
