MARK SHENTON APPOINTED ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
We are delighted to officially welcome our new Associate Producer Mark Shenton (Sunday Express, The Stage, Playbill, Theatrevoice.com) to our team. Mark will be working as Associate Producer on the World Premiere of Charlotte Eilenberg's SHRUNK (18th May - 12th June). This is Charlotte's second play; her first play (The Lucky Ones at Hampstead Theatre) won the Olivier Award (2002) and Critics' Circle Award (2003) for "Most Promising Playwright". It was Mark who brought Charlotte's writing to our attention and recommended that we contact her.
"I have just been asked to become an associate producer for the venue, to help and guide it as it establishes its artistic identity as a rising new star on the London scene. This lets me be part of the artistic process from behind the curtain and not just the pen... it will undoubtedly be an interesting departure from my life as a critic to engage so directly in the artistic life of a venue in this way."
RE-BUILDING TO INCREASE CAPACITY TO 80
When we opened in January 2009 the theatre had seating for 36. In December we added a back row of seats which took us to 46. We are now re-building the entire seating area to turn 5 rows into 8 rows of cushioned bench seats with back support. From Wednesday 27th January our seating capacity will be 80.
