'Laughing Place' Mag Offers Exclusive 'BBC DISNEY Concert' Pics

Tales from the Laughing Place Magazine - a magazine that covers the creativity of The Walt Disney Company will offer exclusive photo coverage of the rehearsals for The Music of Disney Concert that was held in London on December 8 and recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on December 26th.

The issue, set for release in 2009 will bring you up close and personal with theatre favorites such as Kerry Butler, Ashley Brown, Tituss Burgess, Matt Rawle, Drew Sarich, Maria Friedman, Heather Headley, Adam Pascal and Josh Groban as rehearsed for the concert peformance.

Josh Groban served as host for the concert BBC RADIO 2 CELEBRATES THE MUSIC OF DISNEY.

As part of the Tales from the Laughing Place's exclusive coverage Kerry Butler, Heather Headley and Ashley Brown spoke to magazine publisher Lee MacDonald in a series of interviews and the entire event will be featured in Issue 14 of the magazine. The special issue will be out in the early part of next year - however at present they have put up a small preview with photographs of the rehearsals on their site prior to the broadcast on December 26th. Tales from the Laughing Place has produced many exclusive features with Disney Theatrical Productions in the past including coverage of Tarzan - The Broadway Musical, Mary Poppins on Broadway, The Lion King on Broadway and the London presentation of High School Musical on Stage.

Performed live at London's Lyceum Theatre on Monday 8 December, the concert will feature some of Broadway and the West End's biggest stars. As well as hosting this unique concert event, Josh Groban will also perform "When You Wish Upon a Star" - the Academy Award ® winning classic from ‘Pinocchio' - as the concert's finale. Recently discovered in the Disney archives, this will be the first time that the full concert orchestration has been performed outside of the recording for the film in 1939. The concert will later be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Boxing Day, Friday 26 December.

BBC RADIO 2 CELEBRATES THE MUSIC OF DISNEY featured the 70-piece BBC Concert Orchestra performing Oscar®, Grammy® and Tony Award® -winning music spanning over 65 years of the Disney songbook. They accompanied an array of Broadway and West End stars including Ashley Brown (Broadway's original Mary Poppins and ‘Belle' in Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST), Tituss Burgess (Original Broadway casts of THE LITTLE MERMAID and Jersey Boys), Kerry Butler (Original Broadway casts of XANADU and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS), Maria Friedman (original West End casts of THE WOMAN IN WHITE and THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK), Heather Headley (Broadway's original AIDA and ‘Nala' in THE LION KING), Adam Pascal (Original Broadway casts of AIDA and RENT), Matt Rawle (original West End cast of EVITA and ZORRO) and Drew Sarich (original ‘Quasimodo' in THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME and LES MISERABLES in the West End).

The West End company of THE LION KING, which is currently celebrating its tenth triumphant year at the Lyceum Theatre, also performed concert versions of "Circle of Life and "One by One".
