Following a critically acclaimed run at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe, William Gaminara's comedy The Three Lionsreturns for a national tour and run at St. James Theatre, London. The production begins its tour at Yvonne Arnaud, Guildford (2 - 7 March 2015), before travelling to the New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich (9 - 14 March 2015) and Liverpool Playhouse (16 - 21 March), ahead of a six week run at St James Theatre. There it will open on 26 March, with previews from 24 March, and run until 2 May. Philip Wilson directs Dugald Bruce-Lockhart, Tom Davey and Séan Browne - recreating their roles of David Beckham, David Cameron and Prince William from the original run.
A footballer, a prince and a prime minister walk into a hotel room.....
This hilarious new comedy offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of diplomacy in action, revealing what really went on between David Cameron, David Beckham and Prince William in a Swiss hotel the night before England's bid to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In spite of missed planes, mistaken identities, misunderstandings and sartorial challenges, they are determined to bring the beautiful game home. In spite of their eagerness to please FIFA and each other, misunderstandings and faux pas abound as the three protagonists try to keep a grasp on an increasingly elusive goal... But when things start to go disastrously and deliciously wrong, three heads may not be better than one.
