THE PAJAMA MEN: JUST THE TWO OF EACH OF US to Play the Arts Theatre, Oct 15-Nov 23

Following a sell out Edinburgh Fringe run and fresh from a year of improv The Pajama Men (Mark Chavez and Shenoah Allen), dressed in their trademark blue and white striped bedtime attire, hit the West End for the London premiere of their critically acclaimed show Just the two of each of us: a fast paced multi-layered extravaganza featuring a horde of new characters. THE PAJAMA MEN: JUST THE TWO OF EACH OF US will run at The Arts Theatre October 15 to November 23, 2013, with press night set for Thursday, 17 October at 7.30pm.

Written in the depths of winter surrounded by the walls of London's Soho Theatre, Just the two of each of us debuted in April at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival to sold out houses and critical acclaim, followed by further sold-out runs at the Sydney and Perth Comedy Festivals before hot footing up to Edinburgh this August.

Appearing in this thrilling time-warped layered, joke-ridden tale - musically accompanied on stage by the very talented Kevin Hume - is Beulah (who would eat a spider to fit in with the cool kids), Nadine (whose arm is missing and she wants it back), Franz (whose biggest problem is life is too easy) and a procrastinating King (who has only 700 years to get his shit together because if he doesn't it's certain death for everyone): all whose seemingly unrelated storylines come crashing seamlessly together in a typically breathless Pajama Men fashion right at the very end.

Meeting in high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1993, Mark Chavez and Shenoah Allen cut their teeth doing improvisation and sketch comedy in a storefront theatre. They toured various Canadian Festivals before crossing the ocean to make their Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in 2004, where they lost a load of money but left with a Perrier Best Newcomer nomination. A successful return season to Edinburgh the following year helped pave the way for a move to mainland America with stints in esteemed American establishments. In 2008 they went back to Edinburgh, this time with their ridiculously successful show called Versus Vs Versus, which saw them invited to perform at both the Melbourne and Sydney Comedy Festivals (where they took home the Barry Award and Time Out Awards respectively), and their first ever season at Soho Theatre. However, it was their 2009/10 show The Last Stand to Reason that really sealed their position on stage: they smashed all previous box office records at Soho Theatre, sold out their Sydney Opera House season and earned the title "Double Act of the Year" in The Times (UK).

Since then The Pajama Men have screened a short film at Sundance and signed developments deals with radio, TV and film people. So, now, they're in the midst of writing a whole bunch of other things that they can't really keep track of. What will happen next? Who knows?
