According to the Daily Mail, THE HOBBIT's Martin Freeman is set to take on his first Shakespearean role in RICHARD III, aiming to begin this summer at Trafalgar Studios.

Presented by Jamie Lloyd Productions for Traf Transformed, RICHARD III follows King Richard III of England's rise to power and subsequently short reign.
Freeman last appeared onstage at the Royal Court in Clybourne Park.
The actor will next appear as 'Bilbo Baggins' in The Hobbit: There and Back Again. He is also well known for his portrayal of 'Watson' in the UK TV series Sherlock, as well as 'Tim Canterbury' in the UK version of The Office. His past film credits include The World's End, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Love Actually and more.
Coincidentally, Freeman's SHERLOCK co-star Benedict Cumberbatch will also be tackling The Bard onstage in HAMLET, summer 2015.
