A life lived selfishly.

The red and white toy cupboard in my first bedroom. It had a train on the door.

What would be your fancy dress costume of choice?
18th century aristocrat - cane, beauty spot, heels, wig, the full kit.

Which living person do you most admire, and why?
My son, for his fearlessness in the face of an unknown world, and his joyfulness.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Asking people to help me, then solving the problem myself before they have a chance to.

Property aside, what's the most expensive thing you've bought?
A wonderful wedding.

What is your most treasured possession?
My theatre scrapbooks.

Where would you like to live?
In London, somewhere that's green.

Pleasure is never cause for guilt.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
I don't know. I mean, I really don't.

What is the best job you've done?
A bunch spring to mind, but I'm proud to have helped found and develop Showstopper! The Improvised Musical.

Cat or dog?
Oh, dog, dog, dog!

Who is your best friend in theatre?
My wife [Lucy Trodd, also of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical] is my best friend, full stop.

If you could edit your past, what would you change?
I'd work harder in my twenties.

If you could go back in time, where would you go?
Victorian England. But only if I can be rich.

When did you last cry?
Rehearsing a scene at home. Sad, isn't it?

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
A garden.

Where would you most like to be right now?
Sitting outside a villa in Greece in the shade, with my wife and son, drinking good wine.

Tell us a secret.
'Yes' is the most powerful word in the world.
