Poland's foremost outdoor theatre company Teatr Biuro Podrózy present Swiniopolis at the National Theatre's Square² on August 1st, 2nd and 8th. Swiniopolis is a great introduction to drama for young people, a tragi-comic tale that follows an Orwellian story as little piglets are groomed by their elders to be obedient citizens and worship man, the great creator of their happy universe. However, their carefree existence comes to an abrupt end when they discover the true intentions of their superiors. In a humorous but grotesque cartoon style, Teatr Biuro Podrózy's trademark stilt-walkers tower over the little piglet rebels with a noble cause.

Teatr Biuro Podrózy's will also be staging their innovative outdoor production of Macbeth: Who is that Bloodied Man? for an adult audience. Featuring armies on motorbikes, witches on stilts and a spectacular burning castle, their breathtaking staging of Shakespeare's famous tragedy will open the National's 2009 Square² season for interNational Theatre.

Swiniopolis and Macbeth: Who is that Bloodied Man? form part of Polska! Year 2009 - 2010, which comprises over 200 projects presenting the most extraordinary achievements of Polish culture and showcasing works by the most outstanding Polish artists to the British public. The purpose of the year is to bring the communities of both countries closer together by strengthening cultural relations and establishing new contacts between artistic institutions, artists and organisers of cultural events.
