TheStage.co.uk reports "Stage Entertainment subsidiary Stage Ticketing International has purchased See Tickets, the UK's second largest ticketing operation, from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group."

Beginning January 31, See Tickets will merge into the Amsterdam-based group, enabling Stage Ticketing to enter the UK market and provide new business opportunities for See Tickets in Europe.

This is the third major business move by Stage Entertainment within the UK market. Last year the business signed a long-term lease on the Shaftesbury Theatre, current home of the musical Hairspray.

"Stage Ticketing International is a separate entity within theatre operator Stage Entertainment," explains the website, "The ticketing division employs around 1,000 people and combined with See Tickets, sells more than 40 million tickets each year."
