SheriDan Smith may be best known to TV audiences in the role of Janet Keogh in the BBC sitcom 'Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps', but it's her most recent outing - as stage star of the musical 'Legally Blonde' - that is causing a stir in the West End. So much in fact that producers of the show have hired six extra security guards, built and extra stage door and put up rope barriers, reports the Times Online.

Meanwhile, Smith, the musical's star, is not only facing mobs of fans, but also her nerves. Though Smith dons an impressive resume of radio, television and theatre work, she admits that playing the role of Elle Woods, the ditzy yet lovable law student, can be daunting.

"I usually play slappers and chavs," Smith says with a self-deprecating grin. "But this is a real monster of a part. There's singing, dancing, comedy, pathos..." She pauses during an interview with the Times Online. "I'm scared I'm out of my depth."

Peter Davison and Jill Halfpenny join SheriDan Smith, Duncan James, Alex Gaumond, Aoife Mulholland and Susan McFadden in Jerry Mitchell's Legally Blonde The Musical, which began previews at the Savoy Theatre on 5 December 2009. Currently booking until 23 May 2010, Legally Blonde: The Musical has now added Sunday performances to its schedules.

Directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning Jerry Mitchell, Legally Blonde The Musical has music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, book by Heather Hach, set design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design byKenneth Posner and Paul Miller, sound design by Acme Sound Partners and orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke.

College sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods (SheriDan Smith) doesn't take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend Warner (Duncan James) dumps her for someone serious, Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and heads for Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.
